Summerhill Place Apartments Provides Electric Car Charging Stations

Summerhill Place Apartments Provides Electric Car Charging Stations

Andre Molnar-Development Project Manager comments: “Cars produce a lot of greenhouse gas emissions. We are committed to doing our part to protect our environment for future generations. Environmental Stewardship is a key component in our buildings. Complimentary Electric Car Charging stations is one of several environmental initiatives in our development.”

Electric cars do not require gasoline. This reduces greenhouse gas emissions as well as reducing our need for petroleum products. They are also very quiet and enjoyable to drive.

Canadians spend, on average, 3.245% of their income on gas. About $1510 per person, per year. Source: manitobaev.ca/ev-news/how-much-do-canadians-spend-on-gas/

The use of electric and/or hybrid cars can significantly reduce this expense. The annual cost to charge an electric vehicle is estimated at $250-$700 per year based on annual usage. Source: http://electricvehicles.caa.ca/electric-vehicle-cost-calculator/

The Summerhill Place Apartments is happy to pay this expense in order to fulfill their responsibility to the environment. This is a considerable savings for tenants. For more information, check out our website at www.SummerhillPlaceApartments.com

Summerhill Place Apartments Donating Two Cars to Nanaimo Car Share

The Developers of the Summerhill Place Apartments are donating two cars to the Nanaimo Car Share Program. As well, they have included complimentary parking for car share vehicles in their parking plan. Andre Molnar-Development Project Manager comments: “We believe in doing our part for the protection of our environment. Donating car share vehicles and complimentary car share parking is part of our overall commitment to environmental stewardship.”

 It’s Better For The Environment
Car Sharing reduces C02 emissions into the atmosphere by millions of pounds. It reduces the overall emissions by choosing newer, more fuel efficient vehicles, as well as reducing the total number of cars on the road. This means less traffic, less emissions and less overall impact on our planet.

It Promotes Good Health
Most car share drivers choose walking, cycling and public transit as their main mode of transportation. They use Car Share vehicles only when necessary.

It’s Less Expensive
Car Share drivers spend less on overall vehicle expenses and there is less wear and tear on our roads-which means lower infrastructure costs for our city.

It’s Convenient
How many drivers do you see out there in large pick-up trucks that are used for daily commuting? Car Sharing allows drivers to choose vehicles specific to their need and only rent larger vehicles when required.
